About Margaret
For me, therapy is about creating a space where you can speak openly, feel truly heard, and know you are met with acceptance and understanding.
With over 20 years’ experience as a Clinical Psychologist, I bring compassion, curiosity, and a wealth of knowledge to my work. My career has taken me across public and private settings in Australia and Scotland, and for the past 17 years I’ve focused mainly on private practice, while also supervising psychologists and postgraduate students.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring support to each person’s needs. My work draws on CBT, ACT, mindfulness, psychoanalytic perspectives, and systemic family therapy, with a strong focus on relationships and connection.
Couples therapy is a real passion of mine. Discovering Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) was a pivotal moment, I felt at home in its depth, humanity, and effectiveness in helping couples rebuild safety and understanding in their relationships. I also incorporate Internal Family Systems and Compassion Focused Therapy to foster self-compassion and lasting change.
